Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 1, 2026

SF Catering Company ("SF Catering Company," "we," "our," or "us") takes the handling of your information seriously. This policy describes what we collect when you browse this site, ask us for a catering quote, place an order, use the client portal, or talk with our team by phone, email, chat, or text — and what we do with it afterward.

Using this website or sending us your details means you accept the practices described below.

1. What We Collect

Three streams of information reach us: what you hand us on purpose, what your browser reports automatically, and what our service providers pass along in the course of doing their jobs.

Details You Give Us

Planning an event in San Francisco takes specifics. Depending on what you ask us to do, that can include:

  • Your name, and the name of the company, nonprofit, or household booking
  • Email address and phone number
  • Billing contact and billing details
  • Event date, service window, and guest count
  • Venue address, floor or suite, city, and ZIP code
  • Building access notes — loading dock windows, freight elevator reservations, parking, security check-in, and setup instructions
  • Day-of contact names and mobile numbers
  • Menu choices, allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests
  • Quote requests, revisions, order details, and the messages you send us
  • Payment details submitted through our payment processor
  • Reviews, survey answers, and post-event feedback

Details Collected Automatically

When you visit the site, our systems and analytics tools may record:

  • IP address and approximate location
  • Browser and device type
  • Which pages you viewed and how long you stayed
  • The site, search, or ad that referred you
  • Information gathered through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies

Payment Details

Card and bank information is captured and processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not set out to store complete card numbers on our own servers. Those processors operate under their own privacy and security practices.

2. Why We Use It

We rely on this information to actually run a catering business:

  • Answer inquiries and build quotes
  • Send, revise, and manage quotes and orders
  • Confirm event details, flag missing information, and hit deadlines
  • Deliver drop-off catering, staffed service, weddings, boxed meals, florals, and rentals
  • Schedule delivery, staffing, setup, service, and breakdown around your venue's rules
  • Handle deposits, payments, invoices, and refunds
  • Send confirmations, reminders, follow-ups, and feedback requests
  • Improve our menus, website, and internal operations
  • Send marketing messages where the law allows it
  • Detect fraud, enforce our terms, and protect the business
  • Meet tax, accounting, insurance, and other legal obligations

3. Who Sees It

We pass information to outside parties only where it's needed to operate and serve you:

  • Payment processors
  • Website hosting and software vendors
  • CRM, email, and messaging platforms
  • Delivery drivers, event staff, rental suppliers, and floral partners
  • Analytics, advertising, and marketing providers
  • Accountants, attorneys, insurers, and other professional advisors
  • Government agencies, regulators, or law enforcement where the law requires it
  • A successor company in the event of a merger, sale, financing, restructuring, or transfer of assets

We do not sell personal information for money. Some privacy statutes define "sale" and "sharing" broadly enough to cover ordinary advertising cookies, pixels, and analytics tools. Where that applies, you may opt out — see Section 8.

4. Cookies, Pixels, and Analytics

This site may use cookies and similar technologies to keep pages working, remember what you selected, understand how visitors move through the site, measure ad performance, and improve what we publish. Most browsers let you block or clear cookies, though some features may stop working properly if you do.

5. Email, Phone, and Text

Once you give us your contact details, we may reach out by email, phone, or text about your inquiry, quote, order, event timeline, missing details, payment, or a customer service issue.

We may also send promotional messages where permitted. Unsubscribe links appear in our marketing email, or you can simply ask us to stop. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages about a live quote, order, payment, deadline, or delivery — those keep coming because your event depends on them.

6. How We Safeguard It

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect personal information. No transmission or storage method is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

Please don't send full card numbers, bank logins, or other highly sensitive information over ordinary email.

7. How Long We Keep It

We retain personal information for as long as it's reasonably needed to deliver services, service and archive orders, satisfy accounting and legal duties, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain business records. How long that runs depends on the type of information and the obligation attached to it.

8. Your Choices

Depending on where you live, you may be entitled to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct information that's wrong
  • Ask us to delete information, subject to legal exceptions
  • Opt out of marketing messages
  • Opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information, where that applies
  • Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, where that applies
  • Exercise these rights without being treated differently for it

Contact us using the details in Section 13 to make a request. We may need to confirm your identity first.

9. California Residents

Because we operate in San Francisco, most of our customers are California residents with rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended. Those rights can include knowing what personal information we collect, use, disclose, sell, or share; requesting deletion; requesting correction; opting out of sale or sharing; limiting use of sensitive personal information; and not being treated worse for exercising any of them.

Categories We May Collect

  • Geolocation-related information — approximate location and event delivery address

Disclosure

We may disclose personal information to the service providers, contractors, partners, advisors, and processors listed in Section 3.

Sale or Sharing

We do not sell personal information for money. If our use of advertising cookies, pixels, or comparable tools counts as a "sale" or "sharing" under applicable law, you may opt out by contacting us.

10. Children

This website and our services are meant for adults and are not aimed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, tell us and we'll address it.

11. Links to Other Sites

We link out to review platforms, payment pages, social media profiles, venues, and other third-party sites. Their privacy practices are their own, and we're not responsible for them. Read their policies before handing over information.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this policy from time to time and will update the effective date above when we do. Continuing to use the site or our services after a revision is posted means you accept the current version.
